Did you know we sell only the best Feed? No Really, we're not just saying that. You should really give Little Planes Farm and Coker Feed Mill Feed a try. It's like services you've never seen before.

Ok, enough plugs! What's going on LPF Family and friends? We all survive the Snowmagedon? Wow what a snow storm. We personally got about 5 1/2 in. We get those about once every 4-5 years, and seems like clockwork. There was however, something different about this one. It was a lot more than usual, and it stuck well. It almost looked.. fake. But it was fun while it lasted. Snowman, snowball fights, and snow angels. Great job to the folks who were committed to clearing the roads. You guys did a great job, and in very quick response time too. The approaching La-Nina cycle means, hot sweaty, probably terrible and humid summers. Excessive heat, and more bugs. Enjoy the snow; the stats suggest it will be another 4-5 years before we get it again.

While the ponds froze, roads became impassible, and TikTok becomes a staple of the day's conversation, we all seemed to do well.

So what do we do for our animals when temperature gets to below freezing?

1. Heat Lamps - Cheap, easy to use, works great!

2. Wheat Straw / Coastal Hay - ALOT of it. Don't go cheap, pile this stuff on

3. Water - This is tough. A lot of folks don't have easy means to water when their lines freeze.

   Consider a pond, a pool, and get yourself a water pump and a long drop cord. We flood our pigs with water in their canals for water during this time.

4. Feed - Increased feed helps with animals preserving heat. Not a sales pitch :-) It's just true.

   More hay for goats and alike, dogs etc. Even ducks and chickens need more. Consider Alfalfa Hay for Goats or a mix of Timothy hay.

Showtime Dog food:

We received our normal shipment plus some on this go round. We're grateful we were given the QTY we received, and the mill really worked hard to broker our feed and get us what we needed. Moving forward, we hope the showtime will do well and hopefully no more plant issues from Mid-south Feed.
